Here’s a game I like to play. I like to pretend every day.
Just follow the leader and do everything I say. Are you ready?
Ok let’s play!

Pretend you’re an airplane swooping under clouds and then,
Pretend you’re a choo choo train chugging down the tracks again.
Pretend you’re a movie star getting your picture taken.
I like to pretend.

And now you’re a chimpanzee jumping from tree to tree.
Pretend you’re an ocean wave rolling up to the shore.
Pretend you’re a slithering snake slowly sneaking though the soil.
I like to pretend

And now you’re and elephant swinging your trunk and then,
Pretend you’re superman soaring thorough the sky.
Pretend you’re a circus clown juggling bowling pins on fire.
I like to pretend

Pretend you’re a racehorse galloping up and down the path.
Pretend you’re a bumblebee bussing on a flower.
Pretend you’re a raindrop falling from a thunderstorm.
I like to pretend

Pretend you’re a great white shark swimming in the ocean blue.
Pretend you’re sick in bed and about to sneeze HAAAAAA CHOO!
Pretend you’re a dinosaur searching around for some food.
I like to pretend.

Pretend… I can be anything I want to be! Pretend…
Anything I can dream! Pretend… I like to pretend.

My memories of being a musical theater major in college surfaced as I wrote this one. Children have so much fun using their imagination during pretend play, and of course, so did I. Ah, to be a kid again!
